Starting with the A1 southbound take the A14 at junction 14 on the A1M.Then take the first slipway off in a few hundred yards then the first exit from the roundabout,,, this takes you to another roundabout,,,,, take the first exit again,,,,,at the next roundabout again take the first left (as if going down a slipway the wrong way) ,,,,, after about 100yards you have no choice but to turn right into Alconbury Lorry Park.
If west bound on the A14 keep straight onwards northbound at junction 23,,,, this leads to the A1 northbound and also to Alconbury Truck Stop by taking the FIRST slipway some 1 + mile or so down the road,,,,, partway up the slipway go steady and turn left into Alconbury Truck Stop.
Northbound on the A1 take the sip road at junction 13,,,,, turn right on the roundabout,,,,, then left on the next one putting you on the B1043,,,,, turn right on the next roundabout (B1043),,,,, then right at the next roundabout (as if going the wrong way down a slip way road) a few yards down you have to turn right into the Alconbury Lorry Park.
East bound on the A14 turn hard left at intersection 23 going northbound,,,,, this leads to the A1 northbound and also to Alconbury Truck Stop by taking the FIRST slipway some 1 + mile or so down this dual carriage way or Mway road,,,,, partway up the slipway go steady and turn left into Alconbury Truck Stop.
This is a complicated set of instructions to explain, but the details are correct and its very easy for the driver once you have done it from a given direction, but isn't this nearly always the way

Alconbury Services & Truck Stop will be fully opened after making transformations to make it suitably comfortable for visitors. To date within the main building we have removed some walls and replaced others, part refurbished some of the showers and painted some main walls. At the main entrance we have created a small shop filled with essential items of need and it is called "The Hub". The showers have been cleaned thoroughly and fitted with new curtains. We have invested a considerable amount in new water heating and temperature controls. At this time there are three showers operational. The showers are free of charge because we are in the refurbishment stage. Eventually when fully open there will be more showers and a small charge will apply. In the future within the main building there will be three different Cafe providers which are SUBWAY, MRS DAY CATERING SERVICES (the transport cafe) plus a COFFEE SHOP yet to be decided. Other facilities include a BAR and an essentials shop, a small village convenience store. Toilet Facilities will be fully operational. Parking charges at this time are £10 a night. The first two hours of parking are free. This charge might rise when we are fully open,,,, but,,,, it won't go up very much. The Alconbury Truck Stop was previously run by Night Owl and perhaps owned by a parent company, the same would reasonably apply to the Wolverhampton and Newcastle based operations when they were active.THE NEW Alconbury Lorry Park or Truck Stop or and Transport Cafe, indeed now to be called a services and Truck Stop is in a well placed location to serve all sections of the community, indeed it's aim as I have appreciated it, is to do just that.
It is also plain to see there is passion in the management to provide a service to Knights of the road and white van man, also coaches and general public in a serious way.
This operation has the potential to be the broadest operation to road users in the united Kingdom, perhaps after the American style of appealing to everybody not just one section of road users,,, logically this is excellent news for HGV drivers who alone cannot generally provide sufficient business to support properly a 24/7 operation. Combining this Truck Stop with the needs of the general public to give a broad operation is what the future needs, of course not every owner has the capacity to do this as does Alconbury.
